The COVID-19 pandemic, antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred

The Council of Europe’s Special Representative on religious intolerance and hate crimes, Daniel Höltgen, took part in the launch of a new report on COVID-related antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred on social media in Brussels on 18 October.

The report was compiled by the international Institute for Freedom of Faith & Security in Europe (IFFSE), a multidisciplinary think tank that aims to secure religious freedoms across Europe.

The launch included a panel discussion with EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Ilkka Salmi and Hannah Rose, IFFSE senior fellow and the author of the report.

The event was introduced by Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, President of the Conference of European Rabbis, and moderated by IFFSE Director Professor Peter R. Neumann.
