With the fifth meeting of the Working Group for drafting the Rulebook on Administration in Public Prosecution Offices work continued drafting of this crucial by law.  The Working Group meet in Belgrade between 6-8 September 2023 as part of the joint EU/Council of Europe project "Support for the implementation of judicial reform in Serbia." The Rulebook is one of the key implementation bylaws relevant for the functioning of the prosecution system in Serbia with shared competence of Ministry of Justice and Supreme Public Prosecutors’ Office which is reflected in composition of the working group whose members are representatives of Ministry of Justice, Supreme Public Prosecutors’ Office. Professional association of prosecutors and Civil Society Organisation.

The members of the Working group continued working on the alignment of the Rulebook with the new prosecutorial laws to reflect the new role and position of the individual chief public prosecutors and public prosecutors, as well as making sure the concurrent work on other bylaws in precisely reflected in the text of the Rulebook. Work during the fifth meeting focused on improving the contested articles and articles that needed additional input. The work on this Rulebook is entering final stage.

The implementation of the judicial reform is actively supported by the joint EU/Council of Europe project "Support for the implementation of judicial reform in Serbia". The work on implementation bylaws in the prosecution shall continue, with participation of relevant representatives of the public prosecution and Council of Europe expert support.
