Επιστροφή The anti-radicalisation programme

Purpose: The aim of the programme is to prevent radicalisation, hate crimes and violent extremism. Through providing correct information, the municipality endeavours to avoid religious stigmatisation and prejudice, polarization and manipulation of information, and the spreading of conspiracy theories.

Stimulus/Rationale: In summer 2015 the government of Norway approved the anti-radicalisation action plan, in response to the information related to a number of Norwegians traveling to Syria as foreign fighters. The city of Bergen adopted its own anti-radicalisation action plan for the period 2015-2020 to be implemented in close cooperation with the police department.

Process: The City of Bergen cooperates with the police district and a variety of civil organisation. The large Somali community in Bergen is also a close collaborator since the indicators of integration (related to the knowledge of the language, access to employment, and education) show a big gap in the Somali community compared to others.

The city of Bergen approved of a new action plan against radicalisation from 2021-2025.

Impact: The expected impact is to preventing radicalisation in communities at risk.
