Επιστροφή AJP expands safety training and support for journalists, including women journalists

The Association des Journalistes Professionnels (AJP) continued to strengthen support for journalists through its AJPro continuing professional development programme, which offers specialised training at accessible rates thanks to support from the French Community. In 2025, the programme included courses on journalists’ rights when interacting with law-enforcement authorities, relations between the media, police and justice institutions, cybersecurity, and protection against cyberviolence.

Particular attention was also given to gender-based threats affecting media professionals. AJP continued offering dedicated training on the safety of women journalists, addressing challenges such as online harassment, cyberviolence and gender-based abuse. These initiatives complement broader Belgian efforts to tackle technology-facilitated gender-based violence and strengthen protections for women journalists working in increasingly challenging digital environments.
