The Award Ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Journalism Excellence Awards “Ethical reporting on Roma and Travellers and combating antigypsyism through the media” will take place on the margins of the No Hate Speech Week 2026. Organised by the Council of Europe’s Roma and Travellers Division, this initiative recognises outstanding media contributions that challenge stigma and discrimination, while promoting fair, ethical and human-centred reporting on Roma and Traveller communities. Five media professionals from across Council of Europe member states have been awarded in categories including investigative journalism, interviews, Roma history and Holocaust remembrance, and young journalism. The Awards are implemented in line with the Council of Europe Strategy for Roma and Traveller Inclusion (2026–2030), highlighting the role of media in promoting equality, human dignity and combating antigypsyism.
