Agata Foksa-Biegaj

Agata Foksa-Biegaj is currently an assistant lawyer at the Registry of the ECtHR. She holds an LLB in International and European Law from the Hague University, an LLM of the Polish Law and an LLM from Cambridge University with specialisation in international law. Prior to joining ECtHR she worked as a legal consultant for Global Rights Compliance, where she assisted in various projects, including the Accountability for Mass Starvation and the Rohingya Accountability Projects. She was also engaged in a project on behalf of WWF Japan, entitled ‘Feasibility Study on Narrowing Permissible Exemptions in Ivory Trade,’ concerned with comparative study of ivory trade regulations of leading legal jurisdictions and recommendations to bring Japan’s legal system in line with international best practices. She had previously interned for the Open Society Justice Initiative and the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. Agata Foksaj-Biega is the author of several articles on international law and human rights.
