Poland: Trainings in Warsaw on detention on remand and on drafting action plans and reports

On 1 and 2 October, representatives of the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and of the Department of Human Rights and Justice Co-operation carried out a mission to Warsaw to present the checklist on detention on remand to the network of judges-coordinators for international cooperation and human rights in criminal matters. The checklist, developed by both Departments, is a new tool intended to help judges apply and extend detention on remand in a manner compliant with the Convention, and to address underlying causes of the violation of Article 5 of the Convention in the case of Burża v. Poland.

In addition, the Department for the Execution of Judgments carried out a training on drafting action plans and reports, organised in co-operation with the Government Agent’s Office, for more than 30 representatives of various administrative bodies, notably members of the Team for the European Court of Human Rights.
