The Centre of Expertise has recently presented and launched the good governance projects in Greece, Poland, Basque Country (Spain), and member municipalities of UDITE (European Association of Local Chief Executives).
The workshops on the implementation of ELoGE (European Label of Governance’ Excellence) benchmark will be organised for the participating municipalities between June and September 2017.
The ELoGE Benchmark allows to identify municipalities which are the closest to respecting the 12 Principles of innovation and good governance, and therefore are eligible for receiving the Label.
Any association or institution which has relevant authority and capacity, may apply for the ELoGE accreditation at the Council of Europe, in order to be able to award the Label.
Implementation of ELoGE is also being discussed with the authorities of Lithuania, Austria, France, and Ireland. The European Stakeholders’ Platform will meet in fall 2017 to discuss the requests for accreditation of ELoGE from the above countries. The Centre of Expertise provides assistance and encourages all other member states to adopt the 12 principles of Good Governance and apply for the ELoGE accreditation.
