On 15 May 2017 the Best Practice Award Ceremony and the Launching Conference of the European Label of Governance Excellence took place in the city of Chersonissos, Crete.
The events are part of the European Union – Council of Europe Joint Project “Technical Assistance on Institutional Enhancement for Local Governance in Greece” supported by the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (EETAA) and the Institute of Local Administration (ITA).
The Centre of expertise awarded the winners of the Best Practice Programme (started in October 2016) and launched a new activity in Greece, the European Label of Governance’Excellence (ELoGE). This tool will be implemented in the course of 2017 and the Label will be awarded in 2018 to local authorities who demonstrated respect of the 12 Principles of Good Governance
