European Workshop: „Democracy and Human Rights in Education“ Tampere (Finland), 07-09 October 2010

CONTEXT The workshop will focus on the best practices and activities in teaching and learning about democracy, active citizenship and human rights in the basic and upper secondary schools especially from the following points of view: · Implementation of democracy and human rights education into school curriculum and school’s operational culture · Role of student boards and student associations at school · Participation of children and young people in the decision-making of the local community The programme will consist of introductory lectures and participants’ presentations and visits to local schools.
