Building Partnerships for Citizenship and Human Rights Education

1st and human rights educationChair speekingst meeting

"Regretfully, democracy and human rights as such are sometimes the first victims of the economic crisis, and solutions to economic problems are sought exclusively based on economic criteria, and within purely economic paradigm. The challenge is then for all of us to uphold our common values and to promote new avenues for addressing the crisis though a prism of human dignity and societal well-being" - pointed our Mr Zoltan Taubner, Director of External Relations of the Council of Europe at the 1st meeting of the International Contact Group on citizenship and human rights education. The Contact Group was set up to ensure close cooperation among the partner institutions, and met for the 1st time on 30 March 2012.
