"I welcome the constitutional amendments regarding decentralisation adopted yesterday by the constitutional commission of Ukraine. The amendments are in line with recommendations of the Council of Europe's constitutional experts, the Venice Commission.

This is an important step in the reform process and might also help moving the Minsk process forward.

The Council of Europe will continue to assist Ukraine in completing constitutional reform which is vital for the future of the country", said Secretary General Jagland.
