Back North-South Prize 2014

Assembly of the Republic, 11.00 a.m. – The President of the Republic of Portugal Aníbal Cavaco Silva will award the North-South Centre Prize 2014 to Sister Doctor Maura Lynch and André Azoulay. The ceremony will take place in the presence of the President of the Assembly of the Republic and the Chair of the Executive Committee of the North-South Centre Jean-Marie Heydt. Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland will also take part. The prize, awarded annually since 1995, is given to two candidates who stand out for their exceptional commitment to promoting North-South solidarity. Previous winners include Kofi Annan, Simone Veil, Queen Rania of Jordan, Mary Robinson, Mário Soares, Bob Geldof, Lula da Silva, Graça Machel and Souhayr Belhassen.
