On 8 December 2016 during the plenary meeting of the VIII session of Kharkiv Oblast Council the councillors approved the decision on launching Kharkiv Oblast Media Contest “Communities success stories”.

The Contest Statute was developed in the basis of the methodology of the All-Ukrainian Contest on media coverage of local self-government and decentralisation reforms that was launched jointly by the Council of Europe and Minregion of Ukraine in 2016. Mentioned methodology was adapted for the regional conditions with participation of the members of the steering commissions of the Kharkiv Oblast Council and experts of the Council of Europe Programme “Decentralisation and Territorial Consolidation in Ukraine”.

The Contest will financed from the regional budget and implemented in 2017 with the Council of Europe pilot assistance.
