During her closing address for the 2015 Octopus Conference on cybercrime, Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni underlined that urgent action is needed in five areas to ensure the rule of law in cyberspace: More efficient international cooperation, enhanced capacity building, solutions permitting criminal justice access to evidence in the cloud, putting victims of cybercrime in the forefront, implementation of the Protocol to the Budapest Convention on Xenophobia and Racism in order to prevent radicalisation leading to terrorism. If stakeholders are prepared to translate these proposals into action, the fight against cybercrime will be strengthened.
