A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is visiting the Slovak Republic this week (20 -24 October 2025) to evaluate progress made in the protection of national minorities.

This is the sixth visit of the Advisory Committee to the Slovak Republic. The delegation is holding meetings in Košice, Prešov, Lomnička, Ždiar and Bratislava with representatives of the government, national minorities as well as civil society to discuss the implementation of the Framework Convention in the country.

Following this visit, the Advisory Committee will draw up its Sixth Opinion on the implementation of the Framework Convention in the Slovak Republic, containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. This opinion is expected to be adopted and published in 2026.
