A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is visiting Romania this week (20-24 April 2026) to evaluate progress made in the protection of national minorities.
The delegation is holding meetings in Cluj-Napoca, Pata Rât, and Bucharest with representatives of the government, local authorities, national minorities, as well as civil society to discuss the implementation of the Framework Convention in the country.
Following the visit, the Advisory Committee will draw up its Sixth Opinion on the implementation of the Framework Convention in Romania, containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. This opinion is expected to be published in 2027.
