A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is visiting Norway this week (14-18 September 2026) to evaluate progress made.

The delegation is holding meetings in Lakselv, Børselv, Karasjok, Tromsø and Oslo with representatives of the government and local authorities, as well as civil society to discuss the implementation of the Framework Convention in the country.

Following the visit, the Advisory Committee will draw up its Sixth Opinion on the implementation of the Framework Convention by Norway, containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. This opinion is expected to be published in 2027.
