February-April 2019 the Council of Europe Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions” implemented in the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2021 has supported five displaced institutions in four different regions of Ukraine.
Within one of its pillars the Project intents to enhance competencies of professionals in improving services for and by IDPs, as well as to strengthen capacities of displaced institutions working on IDP-issues.
According to the work plan of the Project, relevant needs assessment activities had been implemented and five displaced institutions identified to be supported at the first stage: Donetsk Vasyl Stus National University (displaced to Vinnitsya from Donetsk), Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (displaced to Starobilsk (Luhansk region) from Luhansk), Luhansk Center of Social and Psychological Support (displaced to Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) from Slavyanoserbsk), Institute of Economic and Legal Research (displaced to Kyiv from Donetsk), Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in Autonomous Republic of Crimea (displaced to Kherson from Simferopol).
The Project provided the institutions with IT equipment and software, information stands, furniture and other goods to equip their facilities to be better operational and to deliver trainings, consultations and services to internally displaced persons and representatives of host communities. In total, the institutions received 218 items of 84 kind.
Cooperation with the displaced institutions and displaced professionals will further stay as a priority for the Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions”.
