March 2019 the Council of Europe project “Internal displacement in Ukraine: building solutions” in cooperation with NGO “Ukrainian Institute for Human Rights” organized “Express-course on human rights” for students of displaced universities.

Participants represented East Ukrainian Volodymyr Dahl National University (displaced to Severodonetsk), Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (displaced to Starobilsk), Donetsk Law Institute (displaced to Kryvyi Rih and Mariupol); Donetsk Vasyl Stus National University (displaced to Vinnitsya). The trainings were organized in Severodonetsk and Kryvyi Rih.

The purpose of the trainings was to familiarize the students with the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights with a special focus on the issue of internal displacement being disclosed within the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.

As a follow-up of the trainings, the most motivated students will have an opportunity to take part in the next stage activity - the Moot Court, which will take place April 2019 in Kyiv.
