On 26 May 2026, the event "CONVENIENT FOR EVERYONE: accessibility and universal design in the youth sphere" was held in Kyiv on the occasion of the National Barrier-Free Week 2026. The event brought together youth workers, teams of youth centres and spaces from different regions of Ukraine.
At the invitation of the organisers - UNDP in Ukraine and the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House - the Council of Europe project "Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase IV" presented the opportunities and resources of the Council of Europe in the context of social and economic barrier-freeness, as well as together with the participants analyzed the activities of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House and developed relevant practical recommendations.
It should be reminded that in 2024, the content and programme of specialized training course within the framework of the state programme "Youth Worker" was developed by the Council of Europe project in response to a request from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Youth Centre and local partners in accordance with the National Strategy for the Creation of a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine until 2030. The of experts trained by the Council of Europe conducted 4 specialized courses in 2025. According to the All-Ukrainian Youth Centre, 6 training courses are already planned in different regions of Ukraine in 2026.
