Young people playing “Solutions Exist!” at the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House on Youth Day 2025

Board game about the participation of young people "Solutions exist!" developed in Ukraine in response to the request of national and local partners of the Council of Europe project "Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III" in 2023-2024 in the context of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

On 12 March 2026, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted a recommendation on a new (updated) Charter on the participation of young people in local and regional life.

In response to the current challenges faced by young people, their needs and the content of the Charter, the Council of Europe project "Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase IV" in co-operation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine invites you to update the board game with new experiences.

About the game "Solutions exist!"

The board game about the participation of young people ""Solutions exist!"" is played at trainings and forums, seminars and advanced training, civil society organisations, youth centres and educational institutions both in Ukraine and abroad. For example, Dmytro Kuznetsov, Chairman of the Board of the CSO "Stan", facilitator of educational and community-building processes, facilitated the game at the forum "HROMADOVORETS. Prykarpattia" in Ivano-Frankivsk. Olena Glazkova, an expert of the Council of Europe Project, held the game at the All-Ukrainian Forum of Youth Work in Lviv – European Youth Capital 2025.

The game can be used by youth workers, educators, trainers in public organisations, youth centres, youth spaces, youth councils during specialized trainings on youth participation, civic education lessons, in their free time.

During the game, participants explore in practice policies that affect young people and ways to strengthen these policies; barriers that may hinder youth participation; conditions, conditions, circumstances that can help overcome these barriers; forms of youth participation. Players also shared their own experiences and ideas for strengthening youth participation at the local level.

A board game can be an occasion to talk to young people about their participation and opportunities to participate both locally and nationally.
