Invitation to a webinar on “Democracy at risk? How religious pluralism strengthens its resilience” - 27 October 2025

CINGO’s Committee for Interreligious & Inter-convictional Dialogue is organising a webinar with simultaneous interpretation on 27 October 2025.  The event will focus on discussions how faith-based organisations can help to revive Democracy. Faith-based organisations are significant actors of civil society. Therefore, in light of current societal challenges – polarisation, loss of trust in democratic institutions, social fragmentation and the rise of populism threatening democracy, it is crucial to make fuller use of their potential to protect and further develop democratic culture.

The organisers of the webinar, with the help of renowned guest speakers, will address questions such as:

  • What does society lose when the ancient reservoir of wisdom offered by religions and beliefs plays an increasingly minor role?
  • In what direction is democracy heading when religions and different beliefs no longer generates resonance?
  • What is the impact of the message of religions and beliefs and of interreligious and inter-conviction dialogue on the future of a stable democratic society?

Representatives of all religions and beliefs are cordially invited to participate in this open dialogue.
