Young leaders and students from various higher education institutions, together with young civil society representatives, came together in Tbilisi for a one-day civic dialogue simulation, "Democracy in Action: Dialogue, Rights and Choices in Complex Societies," to strengthen democratic participation, human rights awareness and inclusive decision-making.

Through expert discussions and interactive simulations, participants explored Council of Europe standards on democracy, human rights and the rule of law, while applying these principles to practical scenarios on elections, civic participation, countering disinformation and democratic governance. Taking on the roles of political actors, civil society, media and election stakeholders, they practised dialogue, negotiation and consensus-building in response to complex democratic challenges.

A second simulation focused on public budgeting, enabling participants to examine how transparency, accountability and fair allocation of public resources contribute to democratic resilience and public trust.

The event strengthened participants' understanding of democratic governance and rights-based decision-making, while enhancing their skills in dialogue, critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. It also encouraged greater civic engagement and reinforced the role of young people in promoting inclusive democracy in line with the Council of Europe standards and the Action Plan for Georgia 2024-2027.
