Les communautés rurales sont confrontées à des obstacles persistants en matière de droits sociaux et économiques, notamment les inégalités de revenus, la mauvaise connectivité, les services limités et la discrimination. Malgré les protections prévues par la Charte sociale européenne et la Charte des droits fondamentaux de l'Union européenne, ces défis continuent de nuire à l'égalité et à l'inclusion.

Cet événement explorera comment les obligations des États en vertu des deux chartes peuvent combler ces lacunes, et comment les INDH, les organismes de promotion de l'égalité et la société civile peuvent utiliser les normes existantes pour renforcer les approches du développement rural fondées sur les droits.

Marquant le 10e anniversaire de la plateforme COE-FRA-ENNHRI-EQUINET, l'événement permettra de réfléchir aux progrès accomplis, d'identifier les défis qui restent à relever et de définir les actions futures.
