The first Steering Committee meeting of the Action on Countering Corruption and Economic Crime took place on 2 July 2026 in Pristina, Kosovo. The meeting brought together main beneficiaries including Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Financial Intelligence Unit, Central Bank, line ministries and Police. The focus of the meeting was to review the Action's implementation over the past six months and to strategise future activities.

The Action’s team presented project achievements and results of the implementation in the reporting period covering areas such as strengthening supervision and regulation of Virtual Asset Service Providers, management of corruption risks, regulating lobbying in the context of decision making and promoting multidisciplinary approach in investigating and prosecuting money laundering cases.

The event also served to discuss planned activities in the next implementation period. Beneficiaries expressed particular satisfaction with the assistance provided, reiterating the essential role played by the Council of Europe in addressing critical deficiencies in the anti-corruption and anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing systems and supporting needed reforms.

Members of the Steering Committee reiterated their commitment to continue cooperation and emphasised the need for further support and contribution of the Council of Europe taking into account strategic priorities in the fight against economic crime in Kosovo.

The activity was organised within the framework of the Action on Countering Corruption and Economic Crime funded and implemented by the Council of Europe.
