Two training sessions for prison governors and deputy governors on preventing and combating ill-treatment, inter-prisoner violence and corruption in prisons, were organized in Aheloy, Bulgaria on 11 – 14 July 2017, based on operational guidelines and protocols developed by international and national consultants under the HRTF prison reform project*.
The training sessions focused on the main chapters of the operational guidelines and protocols that are dedicated in principal to prison managers in order to provide them with a set of practices and ideas for improving the prison service.
The aim of the training sessions was to emphasise human rights values, to build on the professionalism of prison managers and to seek for broaden commitment to human rights protection.
