The Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform launched Local Finance Benchmarking activity in Armenia. As a result the Council of Europe toolkit has been adjusted to local needs and the Reporting was held on 17 November 2016 in Yerevan.
Under the CoE/EU Eastern Partnership Programmatic Co-operation Framework the Local Finance Benchmarking (LFB) project has been started in Armenia. At the launching workshop on 14 April 2016 the LFB program was discussed with all the main stakeholders.
Five municipalities volunteered to participate in the pilot program: Dilijan, Tatev, Tumanyan, (newly amalgamated multi-settlement municipalities) and Abovyan, Ashtarak.
Following the adaptation of the Local Finance Benchmarking toolkit, the municipal surveys were completed before the local elections in September, 2016.
Summary reports on the LFB survey results have been delivered to the pilot local governments.
