7th Meeting of the ad hoc Working Group on Reporting back-to-back with a training course on reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012)

The 7th Meeting of the ad hoc Working Group on Reporting, held back-to-back with a training course on reporting for non-EU Contracting Parties, took place on 19–20 November 2025 at the headquarters of the European Environment Agency (EEA) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In view of the launching of the new reporting cycle under Resolution No. 8 (2012) in 2026, the two-day event gathered representatives from nine non-EU Contracting Parties to the Bern Convention to strengthen their reporting capabilities thanks to the support of international experts.

The 7th Meeting of the ad hoc Working Group on Reporting focused primarily on strengthening the Group’s understanding of the new ReportNet 3 portal for reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012) and clarify the steps of the reporting procedure whose ultimate aim is to provide a pan-European assessment of the conservation status of a series of habitats and species.

In addition, the practical training course on reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012) allowed participants to work hands-on with the new reporting platform and to evaluate its functionalities and challenges.

A meeting between representatives of the EEA and the Secretariat of the Bern Convention was held in parallel to reinforce cooperation between the two entities and to explore new areas of collaboration.
