Registration for participation in a webinar on the topic «The European Court of Human Rights case-law in the context of armed conflicts: derogation from the obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights» has been announced
The Council of Europe project “Support for judicial institutions and processes to strengthen access to justice in Ukraine” and the project “Human Rights Compliant Criminal Justice System in Ukraine” jointly with the National School of Judges of Ukraine will hold a webinar «The European Court of Human Rights case-law in the context of armed conflicts: derogation from the obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights» on 21 November 2022.

The following issues will be discussed during the webinar:

  • Derogation in time of emergency under Article 15 of the European Convention on Human Rights : what, how, when and why?
  • Caselaw of the European Court of Human Rights on application of derogation in time of emergency: Article 5 of the European Court of Human Rights;
  • Caselaw of the European Court of Human Rights on application of derogation in time of emergency: Article 6 of the European Court of Human Rights;
  • Caselaw of the European Court of Human Rights on application of derogation in time of emergency: Article 8 of the European Court of Human Rights.

The Council of Europe experts will take part in this webinar as speakers.

 The webinar will start on 21 November 2022, at 10:00 and end at 13:00 (Kyiv time).

  • Judges and judicial assistants of local and appellate courts are welcome.
