On 25 September, in Kyiv the Council of Europe Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions” in cooperation with the Ministry of Temporarily  Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine and the State Fund for Youth Housing Assistance organized a round table “Protection of human rights of internally displaced persons: ensuring housing rights”.

The event organized by the Project at the request of national partners, has created a platform for experience exchange between representatives of executive bodies and local self-government entities on the issues of ensuring the right of internally displaced persons to housing.

During the round table participants discussed the peculiarities of the implementation of housing programs for IDPs at local and regional levels.

The obstacles as well as and positive outcomes of fulfillment of the right of IDPs on temporary housing and relevant legislative initiatives aimed at improving the relevant procedures were negotiated.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of housing solutions for displaced students, scientists and teachers of the displaced higher education institutions.
