THE TEAM

Eliminating corporal punishment: a human rights imperative for Europe's children
is a major contribution to efforts to ban all corporal punishment, including within the family.

This is a major concern and commitment for the Council of Europe.

The foundation for this commitment is provided by human rights standards defined by various legal instruments, including   the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Social Charter and revised Social Charter.

An updated edition of this book, with new material, will be published in the autumn of 2007.
