Expressing his full condemnation of today’s terrorist attack in Nice and the murder of Samuel Paty, the Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, made the following statement:

“I would like to express my indignation and full condemnation of the new terrorist attack that took place in Nice, but also of the recent, cowardly murder of Professor Samuel Paty by Islamist terrorists.

Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and we express our full solidarity with France and French people.

The instrumentalisation of religion is unacceptable. Islamic terrorism has no place in Europe. We are committed to defend our values and our way of life without any discounts.”
