In 2025, Croatia continued efforts to address threats affecting women journalists and improve the representation of women in the media sector. During presentations of journalists’ safety protocols in newsrooms, particular attention was given to encouraging women journalists to report online and offline threats and harassment and to informing them about available protection mechanisms.

A round table entitled “Roma Women and the Media” brought together journalists, media regulators, equality bodies and representatives of Roma organisations to discuss the visibility and portrayal of Roma women in Croatian media and the role of women journalists in reporting on minority communities. The event highlighted the importance of diversity, inclusion and equal participation in the media sector.
