Description
The Ministry of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic is the governmental agency within the Cabinet of Azerbaijan in charge of regulation and promotion of national culture and heritage.
The archaeological and rock art sites represented by the Ministry of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic along the Prehistoric Rock Art Trails are: • Gobustan National Historical Artistic Reserve is a rich archaeological area that has preserved thousands of petroglyphs, tens of ancient human sites, dwelling places, grave stones and other sites dated back to different historical periods (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/gobustan-national--historical-artistic-preserve). • Gami-Gava Petroglyphs of Nakhchivan consist of more than 1,500 punched out and carved rock images, true artistic representations from a period spanning between IV to I millennia BC (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/gamigaya-rock-of-nakhchivan).
Azerbaijan is represented within the European Route of Historic Thermal Towns with the SPA resort of Qalaaltı (Siyəzən).
