Description
The Zeche Zollern II/IV is a former colliery in Dortmund, whose Art Nouveau decorations make it one of the most significant industrial monuments in Germany.
The Textile Museum Bocholt replicates the activities of an early 20th century cotton mill in a reconstructed weaving shed. The historic Herding Spinning Mill, which is part of the museum complex, provides space for temporary exhibitions and textile art.
Thanks to its location, the museum at former Henrichshütte Steelworks is dedicated to the history of steel production.
The Ziegelei Lage is an historical brickyard hosting a museum dedicated to brick production, with still operational machines.
The Henrichenburg Shiplift along the Dortmund-Ems Canal was built in 1899 and nowadays can be visited.
LWL Industry Museum - Westphalian State Museum of Industrial Culture is an industrial museum with 8 decentralised locations in Westphalia and Lippe (North Rhine-Westphalia). The Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe, LWL) is responsible for the LWL Industry Museum. LWL is a public corporation without territorial sovereignty fulfilling tasks in different field of actions.
The Zeche Zollern II/IV, the Textile Museum Bocholt, the Henrichshütte Steelworks, the Ziegeleimuseum Lage and the Henrichenburg Shiplift are Anchor Points of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
