The 

International Conference: “Garden Heritage in Tourism, Tourism in Gardens” organized by the Hungarian Garden Heritage Foundation took place on 17 and 18 April in Budapest, Hungary.

The event was the possibility to discuss the important topics related to promotion, protection and management of the gardens.

This conference represented the opportunity for national, international experts and academics to draw attention on this unique element of the European heritage.

At this occasion, the Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement, Stefano Dominioni was invited to deliver a lecture focused on the best practices in landscape and tourism from the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.

Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme are important channels in promoting sustainable tourism and landscape protection. Among the 47 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, more than 90 % have a long-term focus on fostering the enhancement of different European landscapes.

The Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme in line with the European Landscape Convention represents an important instrument in reinforcing the landscape promotion and protection of the Council of Europe.
