Descrizione

The Community of Municipalities of Neste Barousse (Hautes-Pyrénées, Occitanie). The community of municipality implies limited integration between member municipalities.
The Cave of Gargas contain a group of unique paintings consisting of over 200 stencilled handprints, many of which display incomplete fingers, and dated back to the Gravettian period (between 28,000 and 22,000 years ago). Nestploria is the interactive interpretation center of the Gargas Cave (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/gargas-cave-and-nestploria-visitor039s-centre).
The Municipality of Aventignan, part of the Community of Municipalities of Neste Barousse, is the owner of the Gargas Cave.
