The Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, together with the International Press Institute, will screen the #SOFJO documentary.
The online safety of women journalists goes beyond gender equality and press freedom, directly impacting the quality of our democracies and right of society to access a plurality of information.
This simple truth unfolds in the film, A Dark Place, through first-hand experiences shared by those journalists targeted with online violence and experts in the fields of human rights, gender and media freedom.
The Amicale of the Council of Europe Choir has existed, in various formations, for more than 40 years now. The choir members come from most of the Council of Europe Member States and beyond (some of them are from Syria, China, Mexico…), that is why the choir’s repertoire includes songs in various languages. The choir participates in the Council of Europe ceremonies upon the request of various departments, often upon one of the choir members’ initiative, and gives charity concerts outside the Council of Europe. The choir is a symbol of the cultural diversity inside the Council of Europe.

The press cartoon, the art of politically incorrect
In our "new open and interconnected world", press cartoonists (who are at the same time, journalists, artists and comedians – don’t forget it!) are always the target! The New York Times case is a textbook case that crystallizes all the difficulties facing the profession: political-economic-religious censorship, moral sensitivities overwhelmed by the polemic on social networks, the surrender of some press outlets to the storm... While we live in a world of images, has the art of satire and impertinence, which is at the heart of press cartoons, not become more difficult today than in the past? This is a very serious matter: wouldn't we need to "relearn to laugh" to face the evils of our time and our fragile democracies with distance, intelligence and critical thinking. Press cartoonists would help us to do this, but... are we, the readers, up to the challenge of freedom of expression?
