He is serving as the Administrative Secretary of the National Youth Parliament of The Gambia, a youth-led organization that promotes civic education. Bakary has actively participated in its voter education campaigns, elections observations, National Assembly sitting observations, and civic engagement hour radio programs. Occasionally, Bakary writes on political and legal issues in the Standard Newspaper as a columnist, and regularly appears on radio talk shows to discuss politics and law. Presently, he anchors a TV program called "The Peoples' Platform", where he interviews politicians, activists, and community leaders with a focus on policies and laws. He also has a new radio program called "The Weekly Politics Show" on Capital FM radio. He was one of the people who organized the first ever Presidential debate in the history of his country.
