Boriss Cilevičs is a former computer scientist. Since the late 80s, he led human rights NGOs in Latvia, participated in international projects, published 40 research papers on non-discrimination and equality, minority rights, democracy in plural societies. Since 1998, he has been six times elected member of Latvian parliament. He is Vice-chair of the Committee on Human Rights. As a member of PACE, he prepared 25 reports, chaired Sub-Committee on Rights of Minorities and Committee on Election of ECtHR Judges. Cilevičs stays involved with civil society, regularly participating in NGO projects as a trainer and lecturer.
