Mr Nicos Alivizatos, member of the Bureau of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and member in respect of Greece, participated in a consultation titled the “Exchange on democratic security: trends and piloting foresight”. This consultation, which took place in Strasbourg on 12 October 2026, was organised in the framework of the New Democratic Pact for Europe and gathered members and secretariats of the Council of Europe’s advisory, intergovernmental committees and monitoring bodies.
Mr Alivizatos made an intervention in the session “What should democratic security mean in today’s European context? Contextual challenges & opportunities”.
