The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the UK Attorney General's Office, in cooperation with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law, co-organised an event on "Protecting and promoting the Rule of Law", which was held in London on 7 July 2025.

National and international experts, policymakers and civil society organisations, including youth ones, discussed possible ways of strengthening and promoting the rule of law in the face of contemporary challenges, with special attention given to the updating of the Venice Commission's Rule of Law Checklist.
