By letter dated 14 September 2026, Mr Oleksandr Petryshyn, Acting Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, requested an opinion of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe on safeguarding the continuity and effective functioning of the Constitutional Court in the context of unfilled judicial vacancies.

The draft opinion is scheduled for discussion and adoption at the 149th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (11-12 December 2026).
