In the framework of the preparation of the draft urgent follow-up opinion on the draft law on national minorities (communities), the Venice Commission rapporteurs held online consultations with:
• members of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine,
• the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics (DESS),
• the General Director of the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and
• representatives of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The draft urgent follow-up opinion will be submitted for endorsement at the 136th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (6-7 October 2023). It was requested by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada on 5 September 2023.
