By letter dated 23 June 2025, Ms Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, Chairperson of the Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States (Monitoring Committee) of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, requested an urgent opinion of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
The request concerns the draft amendments to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic and the amendments to the Law of the Slovak Republic “On non-profit organisations providing services of general interest”.
The Venice Commission will prepare and issue two urgent opinions concerning the above-mentioned request in the coming weeks.
The urgent opinions are scheduled for discussion and endorsement at the 144th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (9-10 October 2025).
