On 30 April 2026, a delegation of the Venice Commission held a series of online meetings in preparation for the Follow-up Opinion on the additional amendments to the Draft Law on the Judicial Academy. This opinion was requested by Mr Nenad Vujić, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Serbia.

The delegation held exchanges with the Minister of Justice, Members of Parliament, and representatives of the Supreme Court, the High Judicial Council, the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office, the High Prosecutorial Council, and the Judicial Academy. It also met with civil society organisations, professional associations of judges and prosecutors, as well as representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia and the European Commission.

The draft opinion is scheduled for discussion and adoption at the June Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (12-13 June 2026).
