On 17-18 September 2026, a delegation of the Venice Commission held a series of online meetings in preparation for the Opinion on the draft Law on the Status, Conduct, and Ethics of Members of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. This opinion was requested by Mr Igor Grosu, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

The delegation held exchanges with Members of Parliament, including the authors of the draft law, as well as representatives of the Constitutional Court, the Cabinet of the President, the Ministry of Justice, the National Integrity Authority, the State Chancellery including the Office for European Integration, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office, the People's Advocate Office and the Equality Council. It also met with civil society organisations and international partners.

The draft opinion is scheduled for discussion and adoption at the October Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (9-10 October 2026).
