The Venice Commission, the Council of Europe Office in Chișinău, and the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova co-organised a pre-electoral workshop ahead of the parliamentary elections of the Republic of Moldova. The workshop took place on 28 May 2025 in Chișinău.
The event brought together members of the Central and District Electoral Commissions of the Republic of Moldova, representatives of the Venice Commission and international experts in electoral matters.
In light of the Republic of Moldova’s upcoming parliamentary elections in September 2025 and based of previous recommendations from the Venice Commission and other international organisations, the sessions addressed key issues on campaign monitoring, such as hybrid threats, including foreign interference in elections and disinformation, misuse of administrative resources, and campaign finance monitoring. The session also focused on international standards and good practices on examining and resolving electoral disputes, with special attention to election results and re-counts.
Through expert-led discussions and case-based exercises, participants engaged with comparative practices and explored strategies to ensure election administration remains transparent and consistent ahead of the upcoming elections.
