Participation of the Venice Commission in the Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Democracy and Elections organised by the National Electoral Commission of Portugal

Mr Srdjan Darmanović, Member of the Venice Commission in respect of Montenegro and Vice-Chair of the Council for Democratic Elections, took part in the Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Democracy and Elections organised by the National Electoral Commission of Portugal to commemorate its 50th anniversary.

During his presentation on “The work of the Venice Commission on digital technologies and AI during electoral processes”, Mr Darmanović gave a brief overview of the Commission’s work relating to the use of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence in electoral processes, including the recently adopted Interpretative declaration of the Code of good practice in electoral matters as concerns digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
